As of July 2016 Christian Wältermann took over the management of Commerzbank AG Luxembourg Branch. Before, he had the position of head of Commerzbank Branch Hamburg, Germany.

His professional career began in 1991 in risk management at Dresdner Bank. In 1997 he moved to the sales side, where he worked in various management positions ten years before he went to the back office again. In the Eurohypo he was responsible for the department "Asset Quality Review" and in 2008, he became the Head of the Market Risk Management.
